An exhibition of drawings and etchings inspired by the collection of historic items and objects on display at the Boorowa Museum. Specifically, the beautifully preserved dresses worn by Hamilton Hume’s niece Ethel will be transformed into a series of drawings and etchings, which will be overprinted with letterpress type using the old Boorowa News printing press. There will also be demonstrations during the day of the printing of these works.

Meet the Artists

As a practising art and printmaker, I have been concentrating on working with etching for the past 30 years. Etching is the ideal medium for me as it allows my first love of drawing to be translated into detailed, tonal printings. My work is narrative and figurative, and I find inspiration in both the world around me and in historical and mythical subjects. I have had my work shown in exhibitions both locally and nationally and have been lucky enough to win prizes for my prints which are in the collections of both the Art Gallery of NSW and the National Gallery in Canberra.
