Young Historical Museum

About the Museum

The Museum houses a significant historical collection, alongside arts and crafts made by local people. It includes objects relating to residents and businesses of the early days of Burrangong and Lambing Flat and the development of the region since then. Highlights include a collection of art from world-reknowned glass artist Helmut Hiebl (1943-2012); wire-art from jewellery artist Ambrose Brogan aka McKinley (1907-1992), otherwise known as 'Mac The Wire King'; 19th and 20th century needlework; and a painting of Young by Young Arts Club members and Senior Technical College Art Students in 1971.
