About the Museum
We share stories of people, organisations and businesses from the early days of Burrangong and Lambing Flat through to the development of Young and surrounding district as it is today. The Museum displays a significant historical collection, alongside arts and crafts made by local people. Highlights include a collection from world-reknowned glass artist Helmut Hiebl (1943-2012); wire-art from jeweller Ambrose Brogan aka McKinley (1907-1992), otherwise known as 'Mac The Wire King'; the NSW State Heritage listed "Roll up banner" from 1861; a prayer book bound by bushranger Frank Gardiner and given to his lover Catherine Brown in 1865; a 1909 buggy made by John Rogan and plenty more!
