About the Museum

Housed in the magnificent 1912 School of Arts building, this Museum has an impressive collection of local Hilltops history from gold mining, agriculture, railways, the Australian Light Horse regiment and domestic life. Displays include a blacksmith’s and wheelwright’s premises (1874 – c.1940), the Harden Railway room, a chemist’s shop, a musical instrument displays, vintage clothing display upstairs, an early Australian kitchen and vintage thunder box, plus a collection of Chinese artefacts. There is literally something for everyone here including photographic collection. Books on local topics (many by local authors) will be for sale.

$5 admission for adults and children under 16 free. Pay by cash or EFTPOS is available
