About the Artist

Back Road Exhibition- works by artists Young Till & Guest Artist Ang Hart

Artists Young Till is an established artist in Young where she operates the Forever Young Gallery. Before moving to Young in the Hilltops region the artist practiced in her homeland Korea. The opening of the Forever Young Gallery is the culmination of a dream for Young. Naming the gallery using the clever play on the tradition meaning of her name “Forever” and the regional town that she loves so much.

Young creates diverse works using many mediums however her favourite material to draw with pastels. She is inspired by what she sees.

Boorowa Artist Ang Hart. Ang is a multifaceted artist, psychologist, and passionate advocate for social change, she lives & works in the Hilltops region. But also maintains a deep connection to the vibrant mining towns of Cobar in New South Wales and Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. Ang’s artistic journey is characterized by a profound exploration of rhythm, disruption, and the complexities of the human experience.

Ang, holds a master’s of creative industries with a focus on interdisciplinary visual arts practice. Her latest research “Rising from the Dust: (in)visible Women in Mining” explores the issues women face in the mining industry depicted by 12 portraits.

Her passion for gestural and action painting techniques illuminates her vibrant and introspective works, offering insights into mood, emotion, and the intricate tapestry of life. In an uncertain world, Ang finds hope and meaning in every piece she creates, weaving together her personal journey, mental health struggles, and experiences as a psychologist, Mother, wife and creative. Her profound insights into the human psyche, coupled with her commitment to community and shared knowledge, resonate deeply with audiences, inspiring courage, wisdom, and hope around her and her Korean Culture and the stories of the Hilltops community.

Artist Kirrily Vanderfield  in her own words.... "I enjoy working with a wide range of media to create both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art pieces. At Forever Young during the 2025 Art Trail I will be exhibiting a range of printmaking, including works made with the linoprint, gelliprint and etching/aquatint processes. I will also be exhibiting leather jewellery and small sculptures in mixed media."

The exhibition will also show case

Wood Carvings by craftsman Jeff Peady.  Jeff will have a selection of exceptional woodwork on display. Each piece is unique, locally crafted with care, and reflects a lifetime of dedication to woodworking.  A true master craftsman.

Jewellery Artist & Painter – Leah Reeves. Leah, a proud Kamilaroi woman living on Wiradjuri land, is a visually impaired artist based in Young. She explores innovative techniques, painting by touch using her hands and natural materials like twisted rope to create textured, sensory artwork. Her large-scale pieces are designed to be appreciated by all, including those with vision impairment. Leah’s bold, heartfelt approach to painting has earned admiration from her community, reinforcing her passion and commitment to sharing her vision through art.

Photography by Maree Myhill.  Maree showcases her ability to capture the beauty of nature through the camera lens. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for the landscapes and moments she photographs. Maree frequently exhibits at the Burrangong Gallery in the Young Visitor Centre, offering visitors a chance to experience her unique perspective on the natural world.
