Step into the world of watercolour with Diane Goodman, a Kiama-based artist and educator with over 30 years of experience. Hosted in the Murringo Community Hall, this two-part workshop series offers a rich, hands-on learning experience for artists of all levels.
ποΈ Workshop 1: Watercolour Foundations β From Washes to Expression
Dates: Monday & Tuesday, 16β17 March 2026
Time: From 10:00am each day
Strengthen your foundation with washes, edges, and colour strategies. Apply these techniques in a creative project that balances loose, expressive backgrounds with considered foreground detail. Includes demonstrations, guided exercises, and personal exploration.
π Workshop 2: Creative Watercolour β Flow, Light, Layers
Dates: Wednesday & Thursday, 18β19 March 2026
Time: From 10:00am each day
Dive deeper into negative painting, value structure, and layering techniques. Learn how to carve form from light and shadow and bring depth to still life subjects. Includes handouts and practical tools to support your growth.

Frequently Asked Questions
What level of experience with watercolour painting is needed to enrol in the workshops?
Beginners or those with limited experience will find Workshop 1 more accessible, however, they will be able to enroll in Workshop 2 after Workshop 1. Workshop 2 is more for intermediate or those with some prior experience.
What materials are required to do the workshops?
A material list will be provided to those who enroll but I can provide some basic materials to use on the day, like paint, brushes, paper for a minimal cost
Do I have to enroll in both workshops?
No, you can enrol in either workshop, or both. Those who wish to go on to do Workshop 2 after having completed Workshop 1 are welcome, provided there are vacancies in Workshop 2 at the time.
