As an artist Di Franks works in both contemporary realistic and abstract styles, blending recognisable objects, non-objective shapes, and gestural marks to tell stories.
"My process is one of building up an interesting surface on which to work. Sometimes I begin with collage which will inevitably be covered with layers of paint. Paint is added then removed or distressed and partially covered over. This process mimics the ever-changing nature of the natural world. This layering process also creates a rich tapestry that rewards closer inspection. I like to build my work over time, imbuing each painting with a sense of time-worn history. I believe art should be about more than surface impressions - if you stop to look for a few moments, you will find hidden surprises in each of the paintings".

Wendy Hawthorn is an artist based on a working farm between Forbes and Grenfell. Wendy is captivated by colour, and fascinated by how different hues interact to influence moods and emotions. Through her work, she strives to uplift and convey the joy she experiences in her surroundings. Inspired by the coastal bushland of her childhood and the vast rural landscapes surrounding her, Wendy creates vibrant, textured artworks that celebrate the beauty of nature, often incorporating floral elements and intricate details that invite deeper appreciation. Her work favours acrylics and mixed media, applied with brushes, sponges, and palette knives.
.
Wendy has refined her craft through workshops led by renowned artists, including De Gillett, Gabriel Mark Lipper, and Melissa Read-Devine. As President of the Grenfell Art Society and Chief Steward for Fine Arts at the Forbes Show, Wendy actively promotes artistic exploration within her community. Her work is held in private and local government collections across Australia.

ate O’Connor (TopSugar Creative) is a multi-disciplinary creative professional,
living and working in the village of Binalong NSW. Kate has a visual arts practice based in her Binalong studio NSW. Kate employs mediums from photography, enamel, spray paint, texta, oil and acrylic on a myriad of surfaces.
“I paint to express thoughts, ideas and memories that belong to another place. Distant, and at times a very close set of realities that do not belong to the here and now. I continue to discover that my creative practice is not only an occupation but an
occupational therapy and most importantly, a bridge between places in my mind and
widely held perspectives of reality.”

.
Kate uses a bold, expressive, colourful, humorous and poetic language which aims
to challenge the way we look at, and talk about, insights in our human condition.
Kate has created creative programs and delivered workshops in rural primary schools, facilitated
painting workshops in her local village for both adults and children supported by the local Arts
organisation, Binalong Arts Group (BAG).
