Wendy Hawthorn is an artist based on a working farm between Forbes and Grenfell. Wendy is captivated by colour, and fascinated by how different hues interact to influence moods and emotions. Through her work, she strives to uplift and convey the joy she experiences in her surroundings. Inspired by the coastal bushland of her childhood and the vast rural landscapes surrounding her, Wendy creates vibrant, textured artworks that celebrate the beauty of nature, often incorporating floral elements and intricate details that invite deeper appreciation. Her work favours acrylics and mixed media, applied with brushes, sponges, and palette knives.

Wendy has refined her craft through workshops led by renowned artists, including De Gillett, Gabriel Mark Lipper, and Melissa Read-Devine. As President of the Grenfell Art Society and Chief Steward for Fine Arts at the Forbes Show, Wendy actively promotes artistic exploration within her community.
